Schedule a General Purpose Classroom

General Purpose Classrooms (GPCs) are scheduled centrally by Course and Classroom Scheduling Services and are maintained by central campus resources. Within this category of space, there are four types. Among these categories, you are able to search for additional designations such as TERP (active learning) classrooms. The categories of rooms are as follows:

  • Seminar Room – small classroom, generally 20 seats or fewer
  • General Purpose Classroom – medium size classroom, generally 21-80 seats
  • Lecture Hall – large lecture-style classroom, generally 81+ seats
  • Computer Classroom – classroom with computers for instructional use

One Button Studios

A One Button Studio is a simplified recording studio that gives users the ability to create a high-quality video recording without any previous video production experience. UMD’s One Button Studios provide everything needed to create a polished video project, and are available to campus users free of charge. Click here to learn more.

Classrooms at National Landing

The University of Maryland Discovery Center is located in the heart of Northern Virginia’s innovation district at National Landing. The new space features three classrooms and assorted meeting rooms, designed to connect UMD’s flagship researchers and students with the DMV’s growing cyber valley.

University of Maryland has prepared spaces across campus for students to utilize for quiet study. Click here to find a quiet study space
