Search for a New Dean for the School of Public Policy

July 29, 2024

Thurgood Marshall Hall Cherry Blossoms

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

I hope you are having an enjoyable summer!

You may remember that I sent a letter on May 2, 2024 indicating that Dean Orr will be stepping down as Dean for the School of Public Policy at the end of June 2025. Facilitated by the search firm Isaacson Miller, the search for a new dean will begin this fall, and I will be charging the search committee in September.

I have asked College of Behavioral & Social Sciences Dean Susan Rivera to chair the search. The membership of the committee is as follows:

  • Dr. Susan Rivera | Professor & Dean, College of Behavioral & Social Sciences, Search Chair
  • Ms. Patricia Bory | Associate Clinical Professor, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. Niambi Carter | Associate Professor, School of Public Policy
  • Kimberly Schmidt | Assistant Dean, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. Robert Grimm | Professor of the Practice, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. Nina Harris | Associate Dean, School of Public Policy
  • Ms. Chandrika Rallapalli | Assistant Dean for Development, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. Nathan Hultman | Professor, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. Jennifer Littlefield | Director, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. Shanna Pearson-Merkowitz | Professor, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. Philip Joyce | Professor, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. Charles Harry | Associate Research Professor, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. John Ronquillo | Associate Professor, School of Public Policy
  • Dr. John Bertot | Professor & Associate Provost, Division of Academic Affairs
  • Dr. Sarah Oates | Professor and Associate Dean, Philip Merrill College of Journalism
  • Mr. Alvin Bradbury | PhD Student, School of Public Policy
  • Ms. Jane Holl Lute | Chair & Dean's Advisory Council, School of Public Policy
  • Mr. Gavin Neubauer | Undergraduate Student, School of Public Policy
  • Mr. Jack Henick | Undergraduate Student, School of Public Policy
  • Ms. Lynn Mullineaux | Staff to committee, Office of the Provost

I want to thank these individuals in advance for their willingness to serve on this very important committee. Once a set of finalists is determined, the School of Public Policy community will be invited to meet the candidates at public forums. Those dates will be announced later in the search process.

Regards,

Jennifer King Rice
