Forward

The University of Maryland Campaign for the Fearless

November 03, 2025

Forward: the University of Maryland Campaign for the Fearless

My Fellow Terrapins,

Today marks a pivotal moment as we launch Forward: The University of Maryland Campaign for the Fearless—a $2.5 billion fundraising effort to achieve unprecedented transformation as a top 20 public research university.

At Maryland, we never stand still—because standing still has never moved the world forward. Instead, we've accelerated our impact, our innovation and our commitment to excellence. We've built a billion-dollar engine of discovery advancing breakthroughs in quantum science, global health, the arts, energy, human-centered artificial intelligence and more. We have climbed the ranks to become one of the world's best public universities, guided by a bold vision and fueled by the purpose of our people.

Forward is a campaign for you—our students, faculty and staff. Every dollar raised is an investment in your ideas, your research, your teaching and your Maryland experience. It's about expanding opportunities for students to learn and lead, supporting faculty innovation and strengthening the programs and places that make our community thrive. And, it reflects our unwavering commitment to our students and the communities we serve—investing in the people and programs that define Maryland's impact.

Our campus is in motion—reimagined, reinvigorated and ready for what's next. Forward is our commitment to sustaining this momentum, and with your partnership and support, we will make sure this isn't just a moment. It's Maryland.

We are deeply grateful to Campaign Co-Chair Jimmy Reyes, our Deans, University Relations, and our campaign leadership committee and the UMCP Foundation for their vision and dedication in bringing Forward to life.

Together, we move forward.

Go Terps!
