Call for Teaching Innovation Grant Proposals: Data-Driven Inquiry for Student Success

Dear Instructional Faculty,

As you know, teaching innovation is an ongoing process shaped by thoughtful and systematic inquiry, and is central to our universitywide commitment to reimagine learning. It is important that we invest in opportunities that empower instructors to engage in deliberate cycles of analysis, reflection and refinement to support instructional innovation and student success.

To advance this work, I am excited to share a call for proposals for the 2026-2027 Teaching Innovation Grants: Data-Driven Inquiry for Student Success.

This year’s grant cycle is focused on deepening faculty engagement in data-driven pedagogical enhancements to guide meaningful improvements in our courses and programs. By leveraging generative AI tools, in-depth data analyses, and staff expertise, awardees will use data to investigate and improve instruction and create student-facing interventions. They will also develop practices that can be shared across courses, programs and the broader instructional community, strengthening our academic enterprise as a whole.

We look forward to receiving submissions from faculty and instructional staff in all disciplines as you address meaningful questions about student success in your teaching and learning context. Applications are open, and two information sessions are scheduled in April. The deadline for submissions will be Monday, May 11, 2026.

Over the past four years, Teaching Innovation Grants have supported nearly 190 projects, impacting more than 250 courses that incorporate technology-enhanced, inclusive and experiential teaching and learning methods. We look forward to continuing this trajectory to drive innovation in education and expand opportunities for our students.
