Announcing Our Inaugural Do Good Innovators

February 29, 2024

Do Good statue

Dear colleagues,

This past fall, we announced several new Do Good investments to expand our university's leadership and impact to advance the public good. Among them is the Provost's Do Good Innovator Awards, which celebrate the social impact already being made by faculty and staff across campus.

Our work as a university is centered on the pursuit of excellence and impact for the public good—a statement that embodies our core mission to serve humanity and move Fearlessly Forward. We accomplish this vision in many ways, but one of the most influential ways we serve the public is through our commitment to Do Good. Our Do Good campus is making a difference in meaningful ways inside and outside of the classroom, through education, programming, research and community engagement.

Today, it is my great pleasure to recognize 57 incredible staff and faculty, from every corner of our Do Good campus, who are making a lasting impact as Do Good Innovators. These dedicated Terps were nominated by their colleagues who recognized the broad and meaningful impact they create.

Our work to Do Good is truly transformational because it addresses all four commitments of our strategic plan—to reimagine learning, invest in people and communities, advance the public good and take on humanity’s grand challenges.

Thank you for your shared commitment and partnership as we work together to change our world for good. Please join me in congratulating our colleagues on their fearless achievements!

Sincerely,

Jennifer King Rice
