# Research Resilience 3.0: Call for Proposals

Dear Faculty,   
  
Last year, we launched a series of [Research Resilience Initiatives](https://click.email.umd.edu/?qs=ABB7InYiOjEsImQiOjUwMTB9AAsAAAAABTPRr1dNgVwBztkZKMlZtMCX4eKhu5WzoUmbEoItBjUl_D0eTnEYAu4ye0t-fOAUphhPkFsGOqGPWWqbMfYAO6K1tKcB---XdhWRiw "Research Resilience Initiatives") to support our faculty and the long-term sustainability of our research enterprise. Across the first two rounds of our Preserve, Pivot, and Grow (PPG) and MPower Early Scholars Investment Fund (MPower) programs, we have committed more than $8.9 million through 141 awards spanning a broad range of disciplines across campus.   
  
Together, they have advanced our research and educational mission through new external funding, personnel retention, publications and conference presentations. Our initial data from the first two rounds show that we’ve been able to retain more than 80 personnel members, have submitted over 70 external funding applications, and have provided 64 graduate assistant and postdoctoral awards.   
  
This fall, we plan to invest additional funding through the PPG Program to preserve strategic institutional capabilities, support researchers and centers as they pivot their research portfolios, expand shared research infrastructure and instrumentation, and continue to grow our research enterprise.  
  
A call for proposals is now open for the following PPG tracks, with **all applications due October 23, 2026**:

- Track A: Strategic Institutional Investments, including Center Pivot
- Track B: At-risk Individual Faculty Members and Lab Groups
- Track C: Research Infrastructure & Instrumentation
